Dōm (pronounced like dome) is a root word meaning home. The name reflects a basic tenant of the Dōm philosophy - make yourself home. Wellness begins with creating space for groundedness, connection, and ease within yourself
It is also inspired by the dome-shaped nests of black-billed magpies, birds who are a symbol of curiosity due to their habit of collecting beautiful and interesting objects. That spirit of curiosity, creativity, and intentional living continues to shape everything I create at Dōm.

Reiki is a Japanese energy practice founded by Mikao Usui in the early 1920s. While similar forms of energy healing have been used for millennia, Reiki uses a method of channeling, meditation, and physical or energetic touch to guide Rei-Ki (Universal Energy or life-force) throughout the body. While this may seem intangible, it is so effective that it is offered at major hospitals, including the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, John’s Hopkins, and Cedars-Sinai, as a complementary therapy alongside conventional treatments.
Reiki is a holistic practice and it is NOT a replacement for medical care. I am not a licensed medical professional and I will not diagnose or treat any physical or mental illness, prescribe substances, or intentionally interfere with the advice of your health care provider. It is recommended that you seek medical treatment from a licensed professional if you are experiencing any physical or mental concerns.

Sound Bath healing is an immersive experience that seeks to isolate one sensory input - sound - to calm the mind. This is similar to a mindfulness practice like focusing on the breath, but because the vibration of sound energy is so powerful, it is easier to drop into a deep meditative state without being distracted. The crystal singing bowls used at Dōm are attuned to 432Hz, a more natural and harmonious vibration for the human body than the standard 440Hz.

The term somatic simply means of or relating to the body. More specifically, it refers to the body as perceived from within. Somatic movement is a practice of consciously focusing your awareness on the experience of moving in your body, rather than the outward appearance or the end result. This type of movement prioritizes curiosity and exploration rather than achievements, and can improve clarity and presence of mind.

Absolutely no prior experience is necessary for your session at Dōm! There is no expectation to know the “right” way to relax, move, or receive. The most important thing you can have is a spirit of curiosity and openness to explore your experience without judgement.
Every session is adapted to your comfort level, experience, needs, and intentions. You are always welcome to ask questions, move at your own pace, or choose to skip any parts of the practice that doesn’t feel right for you.

Wellness experiences at Dōm may involve movement practices, sitting, standing, and laying down. Please wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing that allows you to breathe deeply and move freely.
Shoes are not permitted inside the studio. Please wear footwear that is easy to remove. If you would like to access the creekside trail after your meditation, sturdy footwear is recommended as it may be muddy or uneven.
You do not need to bring anything to an in-person session. However, if you would prefer to bring your personal water bottle, yoga mat, blanket, bolster, or eye covering, you may do so. Otherwise, these will be provided.

Yes. Your comfort and consent are always a priority at Dōm.
Physical touch is often practiced during Reiki, but it is not required. Energy can still flow without direct physical contact. Before any session, you will have the opportunity to discuss your preferences, and you are always welcome to request a no-touch experience.
You are also welcome to change you mind at any point during your session. Healing and wellness experiences should feel supportive, respectful, and collaborative.

Each session at Dōm includes time to gently transition before returning to your day. After your experience, you are welcome to take a few quiet moments for reflection in one of the peaceful outdoor spaces surrounding the studio (weather permitting).
The Dōm Signature Session includes additional integration support, including a take-home journal, personalized reflection prompts, and suggestions for continued practices to support your wellbeing.
Your experience does not end the moment your session does. Integration is an important part of exploring what you noticed, felt, and discovered during your time at Dōm.
